CWNP Announces Update to Industry Standard CWNA Exam

ATLANTA, Georgia – August 5, 2008 – CWNP, the industry standard for wireless LAN training and certification announces an update to the CWNA exam.

Launched in July of 2001, the CWNA exam is now in its 4th revision. IT professionals from over 120 countries are CWNA certified. Version 4 of the CWNA exam will incorporate two new major technological advances to enterprise 802.11 deployment: Single Channel Architecture (SCA) and 802.11n.

The new CWNA exam will be available at all Prometric and VUE testing centers worldwide on November 3, 2008. The new exam number will be PW0-104. With the release of the of the new exam PWO-104, exam number PW0-100 will no longer be available as of close of business on November 2, 2008.

Devin Akin, CTO of CWNP and the chief architect of content for all CWNP curricula, says, “SCA deployments have reached significant popularity and market share. Almost every Wi-Fi vendor is shipping 802.11n-capable hardware and software, and 802.11n deployments are common. We see a significant and urgent need to educate the industry on these technologies.”

With the updates to the CWNA exam, supporting materials, and curriculum, we’re doing just that. The properly educated network engineer can do great things with secure 802.11n networks in the enterprise today.”

Publishers McGraw-Hill and Sybex, a division of Wiley, will be publishing updates to the current CWNA Study Guides. The official CWNA WLAN Administration instructor led training courseware will be updated in October 2008. The official CWNA practice tests will be updated in November, and current license-holders will be automatically updated to version 4 of the practice test questions on www.cwnp.com.
