Here is a little roadmap for the impatient
Late February: GNS3 beta 0.4 pre-release for beta testers
2 or 3 weeks later: GNS3 beta 0.4 release
Mid April: GNS3 stable pre-release
May: GNS3 stable release.
This roadmap is likely to change, it is just to give you an idea.
GNS3 beta 0.4 will have:
A dynamic mode (no design/emulation modes).
Bugs fixes, .net import/export is a priority.
New features, a more flexible way to design a topology
WICS support.
New symbols.
PIX support (to confirm).
GUI improvement.
and more …
GNS3 stable release should have:
More new features
Bugs fixes
We are also thinking with Chris about integrating directly in Dynamips a new node type which should be a TCP/IP stack (maybe LWIP: http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lwip). This would be useful to quickly add virtual PCs in your topologies and to do ping/traceroute test TCP connectivity etc.
To conclude this post, we are proud to announce that GNS3 is now in the official OpenBSD ports (http://ports.openbsd.nu/emulators/gns3). Thank you for this
