Compaq/Oracle8i Integration and Performance with Microsoft Windows NT Self-Assessment Guide
Prerequisites for Compaq/Oracle8i Integration and
Performance with Windows NT
Compaq strongly recommends that students taking this course have the following credentials. The instructor will deliver this course under the assumption that students have attained this level of experience.
Successful completion of this course requires that the student have basic knowledge in the following areas:
? An understanding of the setup, configuration, and general operation of Microsoft Windows NT Workstation 4.0, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server, and associated support and configuration applications.
? An understanding of general Windows NT system administration—including user-level security requirements, user account management, and application support and management.
? A familiarity with network administration and support—including hardware, software, setup, configuration, topologies, and security.
? An understanding of network technologies and protocols—such as TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP.
? A familiarity with high-end server systems, options, and software— especially Compaq servers, hardware options, and software products (for example, SmartStart and Compaq Insight Manager).
Note
These prerequisites are equivalent to Compaq ASE certification (Microsoft

Testing Procedures
? Prometric provides registration and scheduling services Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Central Time, excluding holidays observed by Prometric.

Preparing for a Master ASE Level Test
Test analysis conducted by Compaq and Sylvan Prometric clearly show that a comprehensive course of class attendance and self-study is required to pass the exam on the first attempt. Courseware for the Master ASE program has been
designed for skilled professionals with a high degree of industry knowledge, years
of associated experience, and demonstrated expertise in a network environment. Therefore, it is essential that students:
? Take adequate time to review all the information presented in class.
? Review all reference documentation and support materials.
? Answer all Learning Checks contained in the student training materials.
? Complete all written and “hands-on” lab assignments.
If these measures are not adhered to, chances of successfully passing any ASE- level exam are very limited.
SAG – 4 Rev. 0.21
Self-Assessment Guide
Recommended Time for Testing
Testing statistics prove that 70% of all Master ASE-level tests are passed when students take their test three to seven days after class attendance. This amount
of time typically provides adequate study time and allows testing to take place
while the information is still fresh. On the converse, the same statistics show over
80% failure rate for students attempting their exam immediately after a class or
if they wait more than two weeks after class completion.
