New CCNA 640-802 from Cisco and New Entry-Level Certification CCENT

26 June 2007 – Cisco Systems has announced major updates to its Certified Network Associate (CCNA) foundation and entry-level certifications, which take effect from August 1, 2007.

A new version, 640-802, of its highly successful and popular CCNA certification as well a freshly minted new entry-level title, the Cisco Certified Entry Networguide Technician (CCENT), will be available from August 1, 2007.

CCNA has been completely updated to go beyond routing and switching to include wireless, security, VOIP, DHCP/DNS/IPV.6, VPN and other important topics. The new exams will still contain hands-on simulation questions like previous CCNA exams.

New Exams

The new CCNA will still be available in the two options format – either

the one exam option

640-802: CCNA – “composite” format

OR

the two-exam option
